Ten years after the release of his debut album Solipsism, Joep Beving returned to the piano to see how the music had evolved with him. He re-recorded the album in a single take, capturing the pieces as they now live within him. The session was realized together with Concertlab in Utrecht.

Earlier this year, Joep spent two days in a friend’s woodland cabin, revisiting the original work. Some pieces had been with him on countless stages, others had remained untouched for a decade. In this reimagined version, Solipsism Redux, the slower tempos and subtle shifts deepen the music’s meditative character while staying true to its minimalist core.

“Solipsism was the start of a 10-year exploration of our relationship to reality,” says Beving. “I’m grateful for what I’ve learned, for the people I’ve met, and for the moments of peace this music still brings me.”
